In Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, the graduation "Dai Shihan" was awarded for the first time in 2018 by Soke Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi.
The graduation is recognizable by the golden Bujinkan symbol on a purple background.
We think: Purple and gold are a very cool color combination.
The purple of our grips is not identical to the purple of the Dai Shihan patches, but it goes in that direction. The only faux leather with an exact matching hue had no grip, which is essential for a grip.
Our softbokken in Dai Shihan colors look - admittedly subjectively - really good and noble and are produced with both bamboo core and fiberglass core in Edition No. 10 with excellent stability and very good insulation.
The gold actually feels velvety.
Disadvantage of the golden leatherette: It is miserably difficult to work with, because it is very soft. For this reason and because of the higher purchase price, a softbokken in Dai Shihan colors costs a little more than our other softbokken.
Fiberglass or bamboo?
435 g Soft Bokken bamboo
725 g Soft Bokken fiberglass
You can choose, as with the "normal soft bokken", whether you would rather have a core made of bamboo or a core made of glass fiber.
Both have their advantages.
